ANOTHER YEAR OVER AND A NEW ONE ABOUT TO BEGIN!

Happy New Year to all, I hope 2025 is a good year for us all!

Let’s wind up of 2024 before we move into 2025.

We were lucky to have good weather for our Closing Day on the 5th December. Thank you to everyone for participating. We hope you enjoyed the day. A big thank you to Chris Levy for all her work in planning the lunch. Also a big shout out to all the staff in the Pro Shop, Bar and Kitchen for their efforts to ensure the success of this day.

Congratulations to all the winners who were awarded their Trophies and prizes on the day.

This ended our 2024 Golfing year.

A time to celebrate another Golfing year at BGC!

Our Golf NSW Medal Winners were announced at the last Friday members drinks on December 20th.

Michelle and Barb were both at the club and were presented with their Medals.

A big Congratulations to one of our newer members Jenn Worner. Jenn won the Stableford Competition and the Bottle of Whisky in the St Andrews Event on the 21st December with a wonderful score of 41 points! Jenn is working very hard to reduce her handicap and since September Jenn has dropped from 48 to 37.7. A very impressive effort and very worthy of recognition. Well done Jenn we look forward to seeing what you achieve in 2025!

2025 DATES TO REMEMBER

I hope you are all looking forward to a busy golf year!

OPENING DAY - President v’s Captain 4BBB v’s Stableford - 30th January

The time sheet will be opened on the 5th January for bookings. The first 2 slots in each booking line will be in the Presidents Team and the 3rd & 4th slots in each booking line will be in the Captains Team. Cost for the golf will be the normal competition fee of $17.50.

The Golf will be followed by lunch and all bookings MUST be made at the Bar or through the Office. Bookings and payment are to be made by the 23rd January. If you can’t get into the club prior to the 23rd then you MUST ring and book. Details and cost of the lunch will be sent out in the first week of January.

Monthly Medal Rounds - The first Weekend round is on the 1st February and the first midweek round is on the 13th February. We will be having a presentation after the game on the 13th to present the Club Medals for this first round.

Jubilee Foursomes Qualifying Round is scheduled for the 20th February. Time to look for a partner! More details closer to the event.

Champions of Champions is being held at Bowral on the 25th February. More details closer to the event.

The Donkin Cup Round 1 is scheduled for the 27th February. More details closer to the event.

CLUB OPEN / INVITATION DAYS & OTHER EVENTS

There is now a folder in the Women’s Locker Room where we will be putting all the Flyers and any other information for all up coming events at other clubs. Please check the folder for details including registration and ToC’s. If you require a soft copy of any of the flyers please let me know and I will forward them onto you.

CSGA OPENING DAY - This is being held at Bowral Golf Club on the 6th February. Please note this event is being run by the CSGA NOT BGC. We are merely Hosting.

If you wish to play in this event your booking and payment must be made through Trybooking. The Pro shop cannot book any members into this competition! Flyer and ToC’s are in the folder.

Federal Golf Club - Women’s Open Day on Thursday 13th February.

Goulburn Open Day - 19th February - No further information regarding this day has been received as yet. But it is good to know this is coming up.

PENNANTS 2025

This year we will be looking for members wishing to play in the Bronze Shield Team.

We now have all the dates and the locations for each game. I have put the Sign -Up Sheet in the Women’s Locker Room. Please put your name down and join the team to represent the club whilst getting the opportunity to play at the different courses.

This is for all members with a GA Handicap of 18 - 36. You can play if your handicap is higher however you will have to play off 36. If you have any questions please contact me.

Unfortunately we will not be fielding a team in the Plate Pennants competition again this year.
